Stormy SpringCategories: Life in progress Meteorology
So far it has been an unseasonably wet, cold spring. All the plants have sprung, and the temperatures have risen to some extent, but it is persistently stormy, windy and rainy. The reservoirs are almost full, the creeks are flowing and the tanks are overflowing. There haven’t been many days where just a t-shirt was enough. Those days are yet to come. This is not the most convenient weather to be riding a bike in, particularly with such wind, but fortunately it is pretty consistently squally, so wether or not its raining right now has no bearing whether it will be raining in a few minutes time.

Good news about the water situation though. So water restrictions are lifted?
I know it is a pain to ride in that weather but I am sure it will settle down soon.

Actually, apart from the wind, i am better off riding to work than driving. We have to move our cars every 2 hours, so I would be out in the weather on a regular basis during the day if I brought the car. With the bike there are only two time periods where Im exposed to being rained on. Weird.
As far as water restrictions go, I have a feeling that they will never be lifted. As far as I know they havent been officially lifted, and the message thats coming thru is that we can no longer assume that we can use water in the ways we used to, that we need to adapt to extended periods of lower rainfall and so going back to what we had before is not a viable option.
