Happy New Year again!Categories: Life in progress Life in general Conflict management
I didn’t blog much last year, nor post many pics. There are a few reasons for this. One is that I have been spending less and less time on the computer as the year has gone along, and in particular the last few months. In fact, in the last few months I have hardly been at home!
Additionally, telling my bosses about my website was a major dampener on any desire to blog. If I had known in advance that this was going to happen I would have thought twice about this disclosure, but, at the same time, I really think it is important to be open about that what I was doing. Many of my colleagues in Tokyo knew about my blog, I was pretty open about it then and it wasn’t a problem at all. However, it was a bit of a different scenario this time, and the fact that my immediate boss didn’t really understand how blogging works, as well as our very different perspectives on most issues, made things a little awkward. Lots of stuff was going on that wasn’t really ok to publicly process and digest and seek comment on. But thats over now.
So those are my two main excuses. Im not going to say that I have had nothing to say, because God Knows (and so do You, Dear Reader) the majority of my blog entries have been sweet nothings since the beginning! Having nothing to say is no excuse. This year I will be going back to study and will have lots to digest and sort through, and I expect that there will also be lots of time spent in displacement blogging when I should be studying. For the moment however, it’s summer and there is the beach, there is the VNM, Ms. Indigorayz is visiting from Melbourne, and the real world is calling louder than the computer.

Happy new year to you, too. Real life is better than blogging, for sure. But your far-flung friends want to know what you’re up to, so a few pertinent entries wouldn’t hurt.
