From Op Shop to campfireCategories: Life in progress

It’s been a good week, quite varied. I worked a few days in one of our Op Shops while the manager was away. I used to work in retail a long time ago, and it was nice to be back in a shop again, saying hello to everyone, chatting to staff and customers, helping people find things or put costumes together… One afternoon we sold 3 wedding dresses in one hour!

It was fun poking around in amongst all the stuff they have in there, I found new treasures every day I was there.

On Friday, I met up with a friend after work and headed up to the very back of the Hills for a BBQ. First up there was a quick but necessary bit of property maintenance, and then we settled in for an evening of yarns around the fire, before heading back into the city at about midnight. The BBQ was pretty delicious - veggies cooked whole on the coals and grilled wild meat from the markets (kangaroo steak, wild pork chops and goat sausages). I think I might have to ask Ms. T about some damper recipes! Although my friend’s place is on the last ridge of the Adelaide Hills, its only 45 mins from there to home. Next time we will take swags and stay all night. It was very relaxing.

Sounds like a really cool week and the bbq sounds delish!! what I would give for some good Kangaroo steaks cooked on an open fire. Will have to settle for the Aussie bbq this week end.
